Welcome to Sunset Shores Yacht Club (SSYC). 
Whether you are mooring a boat or just visiting us, we hope you enjoy this beautiful and scenic facility and the area’s many attractions. SSYC is a family oriented club and the Board of Directors works to maintain our facility to the highest standards for your safety and enjoyment. SSYC is a condominium-based association with 186 slips of varying sizes. Many shareholders rent out their slips, so ownership is not necessary to take advantage of the facilities, which include dockside power and water, holding tank pump-out equipment, picnic tables, BBQ grills, bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a community room and lots of friendly fellow-boaters.
Throughout the season our members and renters plan various club events like fish cookouts, wine & cheese tastings, theme parties and many others that add to the excitement. Stop here at our website and check our Activities & Special Dates area for the latest details.
SSYC has a state-of-the-art, Wi-Fi system by Tricon Services Marine Wi-Fi. Want to access your key business and recreational websites or stream your favorite movies, no problem. This system has a strong signal and a fast band width to better serve our membership.

Located at the entrance to the Saginaw Bay, you are just minutes away from a relaxing day on the water. On the bay you can fish, swim, water ski, anchor out for lunch, go for a cruise under the moonlit stars, or cruise up the river to Bay City.
SSYC is just minutes from the Saginaw Bay
Situated on both sides of the Saginaw River are two business districts and community parks. You will find restaurants, art fairs, side walk sales, concerts in the park, baseball tournaments, boat shows and one of the largest fireworks displays in the great state of Michigan on July 4th weekend. The Bay City Area Chamber of Commerce has a web site listing the community’s summer activities.
There are four full service marinas located on the river; Bay Harbor Marina, Skipper Bud’s, Pier 7, and Anderson Marine. TowBoatUS offers 24 hour marine towing (800) 391-4869.
The Bay City Yacht Club has very active racing activities and welcomes all to race with them. Interested in sailing? This is the place to be.
The United States Coast Guard station is located on the river and watches out for our safety.
The Saginaw Bay Sail and Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadron offers safety classes for novice and advanced seaman. The Coast Guard Auxiliary offers boat safety inspections and classes.
The Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum is just a short distance up the Saginaw River and the home of the USS Edson. A top gun ship that earned the nickname, “The Destroyer.”
